Nail surgery
When it comes to professional nail surgery by an experienced nail surgeon, Westbury Podiatry Surgery is your answer.
Toenail surgery is a procedure performed under local anaesthetic resulting in a very little discomfort to the patient. If you’re suffering from an ingrowing toenail, a small section is removed from the side of the toenail under local anaesthetic.
This is called a partial nail avulsion and a chemical called Phenol is applied to prevent the piece of nail from re-growing. In some cases, the whole toenail may need to be removed. This is called a total nail avulsion. Your toe might become sore but it will ease after a few days. Contact us today to book an appointment.
What does the nail surgery treat?
Ingrown nails
Deformed or thick nails
Painful nail conditions
Avoid ingrowing toenails by not wearing tight-fitting shoes or socks. Always ensure that your toenail retains it’s natural outline so the nail is pressing onto the skin surrounding the nail. Click here for surgery prices, or call us for further information.
